I had the best time EVER!
May 27th, 2008I just took 3.5 days off. Can you believe it? I haven’t taken that much time off since my vacation to Europe last October. I hadn’t planned to do it, but once I started partying, it just felt too damn good! haha
I had actually planned to take Friday and Saturday off. Friday was my cousin’s bridal shower and Erin came down. I spent the entire day cooking! Everyone was supposed to bring a dish and since my domestic goddess gene seems to have kicked into overdrive, I not only prepared the requested item, potato salad (because I make amazing potato salad that everyone loves), but three varieties of tea sandwiches and a strawberry rhubarb pie.
I know, I’m out of my mind! Strawberry rhubarb pie is my cousin’s favorite though and I learned how to make pie crust from scratch recently so I couldn’t help myself. Then when I went to look at foodnetwork.com for ideas for other stuff to make, they suggested tea sandwiches for a bridal shower. I made cucumber, smoked salmon/egg, and smoked turkey with that had a parsley/dill/shallot/lemon mayo.
The shower was awesome. We played games, ate a ton of food and she got a bunch of sex gag gifts that cracked us all up. Erin and I made the hottest wedding dress out of toilet paper that I’ve ever seen!
I’d gotten a text from a friend I’ve seen a few times in the past couple of years but used to be great friends with so I called her after the shower and Erin and I headed over to her place. We ended up going out with her and a friend of hers to a couple of clubs that were so close to her place that we walked. Well, until we got so drunk we could barely stand up and decided we needed to eat Taco Bell food so we got a cab so we could ride through the drive through! HAHAHA
It was super fun though. I’m really glad we went. We ended up at a latin club and the guys were hot and good dancers. YAY! We slept til around 11 or so and got up to go do some last minute shopping for the bachelorette party that night.
I got some new shoes that I LOVE LOVE LOVE and had a brand new dress to wear out that night. All the girls came over around 7 and we decided to go out to dinner and then go club hoppin’. Awesome choice.
We had so much fun, it was unreal. We skipped lines and got in free everywhere we went! I figure we should just pretend to be a bachelorette party from now on every time we go out! There were plenty of “party favors” to go around and we all danced our asses off til around 4 am. I got free drinks all night and so did my cousin…and it was sweet that none of the girls had forgotten that it was my birthday too. I didn’t feel left out of the festivities at all.
We got home, crashed pretty quick and slept like the dead for a good solid 8 hours or so. Erin headed out and my roomie and I hooked up with some friends for lunch. Then I came home and just totally chilled out all day, watching tv and reading. I could have taken calls that day, but I was just too damn tired.
Then yesterday my roomie and I headed out to some places to look at flowers. Another friend and her mom went too. We went to lunch and then hooked up with a ton of friends to go see the new “Indiana Jones” movie. I have to say that I was extremely disappointed. It was a cheese-o-rama from the first scene. I guess I was mildly entertained at some points toward the end, but I never lost myself in the story or shook the vague feeling that I’d just rather leave.
The other Indiana Jones movies are all in my top 20 too so that sucks bad. I was REALLY excited for this one and now I just wish they’d left it alone. Not only that, but now Shia Lebeouf is going to take over the franchise? I’m sorry, but I’m not down. I don’t even like him for some reason. UGH. I just read the stuff about it over on IMDB and it appears that I’m not the only one who thought it sucked.
Oh well, I am really excited about the new Batman movie and “Hancock“, a movie that’s coming out on July 2 starring Will Smith. I am so excited about it that I actually dreamed about fucking Will Smith last night. YUM!
Speaking of yum, I’m eating a gigantic bowl of strawberries for breakfast. Also yum is David Cook, who WON AMERICAN IDOL! WOOHOO! I was stunned, shocked, amazed and totally happy to see that happen. Now that that’s over, “So You Think You Can Dance” has started and it’s by far one of my favorite tv shows. So far I haven’t really been blown away by anyone, but it’s only had one episode this season. I’m sure I will be wowed soon.
Oddly enough, even with all my time off lately, I might not be around tonight. We’ll have to see. I skipped my Tolle class last week and would really like to attend tonight. I guess it depends on how busy I am on the phones today during the day. Call me up!
