I shot my final assignment yesterday morning and then headed to the dark room. I was there for about 4 hours, but I got the film developed, made my contact sheet and managed to print both pictures without any major issues. I had minor issues, of course, but nothing that made me want to kill myself really.

I’m completely done now. I was going to head in today to get help spot toning some of the prints, but fuck it. I even have my book all in order. I just need to print out the title page and cover pages for each assignment. This one kid in class spray painted his title page and took a picture of it! I wish I’d thought of that, though I’m not sure I could have managed to make the extra print.

I’m still debating whether or not I’m going to take the next class. I almost think that the nicer weather will help a bit and the fact that I kinda already know what I’m doing might make the next class a little less stressful. Maybe I should wait til I get my grade to make that determination.

I’m just hanging out here at the house today. This house that I live in and co-own with my cousin is on the market now and has been for about 6 weeks. They are getting married in June and have a 2 yr. old so it’s time for us all to split up. Where am I gonna go? Not sure…I haven’t decided yet whether I’m staying in Cali or moving somewhere else.

My point is that I should be signed in most of the day today, we’re just going to be cleaning up around here. No one’s really looked at the house yet (not surprising, the market really is THAT bad), but we want it to look nice when it’s time and we’re gonna start having open houses next week. So I’ll probably just be cleaning and organizing today. I’m sure I’d love any interruptions!

After Niteflirt’s ad stuff changed, my main listing stagnated for MONTHS. I kinda gave up hope on ever reaching 10,000 points, but lately it’s been creeping up again slowly but surely. I only need 143 more points! There was a time when I would have gotten that in a week flat, no problem…now it might take a few months, but I’m actually getting kinda geeked about it. 10,000 points is a lot! I woke up this morning and my roomie said she wanted to go look at some wedding gowns. I just got home and it’s 4 pm! lol It took us a couple of hours, but she found a gown she absolutely loves (too bad she doesn’t have any $$ for it) and I’m 95% sure that I found the dress I’m going to wear as the maid of honor too. Cool!

I got the stuff I need to shoot my final photography assignment too. I have to baby sit tomorrow until noon, so I will shoot the pictures then and head to school when I drop the baby off at his grandma’s house. I’m going to deliberately shoot the stuff on a drab background so it won’t be too dang hard to print. Black and white is always tough!

I’ll be taking calls all night tonight though, so give me a call if you want to. That story is selling pretty well and it seems like most of you who are getting it like it! Let’s keep it up and maybe I’ll make some money to take another class next term…haven’t decided yet whether I want to.

I am way behind on American Idol so I’ll try to catch up tonight since I’m staying in. I’ve got a bunch of books I want to read too, so I’m off to immerse myself in some pop culture. Talk to you soon!

Time is flying…sorry guys. I keep meaning to write in this blog and some funny stuff is happening to me, but I’ve just been so busy lately.

I’m 75% done with the President’s Day story and I am trying my best to get it finished up. I’m gonna be honest and say that I might not get around to finishing it until next week sometime. I’ve got class in the morning and then I’ll be at school pretty much as much as I can be this whole week. We have to turn our books in next Monday and I haven’t even shot one of my assignments yet. ACK!

So please be patient with me about the story and call to support me when you see me on! I really don’t have that much time to take calls lately but I still have all the same bills! haha

Phew. Ok, let me start out by saying OH MY GOD…I just took my midterm for photography and it was brutal! There were only 20 questions, but it seems like none of the stuff that he went out of his way to drill into our heads during lectures by saying, “This will be on the midterm!” was. It was way more technical than I thought it would be too. That said, I think I at least pulled a C and this test only counts for 25% of our grade so I think I’m still in good shape.

After the midterm, we did critiques of the photos that we’ve managed to print. I had at least two more pictures done than everyone else. The problem is that even if a print took me 3 or 4 hrs. to get done, every single one of them had “issues” that I could go in and fix if I wanted to. I really don’t know what I should do. I could go to the dark room tomorrow for 4 or 5 hrs. and probably reprint every single picture I’ve done to this point, but I don’t know if I can stand it. It  almost makes me want to cry when I think about all the hours I’ve already put in.

What pisses me off is that most of the suggestions he made had to do with cropping the image further and in every case but one, the other teacher was there helping me make the decisions. UGH. I will definitely go in tomorrow and try to reprint the one of Erin I have that I cleaned the negative and one other assignment that I haven’t tried yet. We’ll see how I feel as to whether I attempt to fix the other prints.

In other news, I had a pretty good weekend. I know it seems like a never ending saga, but the boy isn’t moving out of state now. He went to an interview and he didn’t like the company so he decided against it. I picked him up from the airport and spent Friday night with him, but came home pretty early on Sat.

Sat. night I just went out to dinner with some friends and chilled a bit. Yesterday I went to miniature golf and bowling with some friends. It was way fun! I did sign in briefly last night while I was studying for my test, but didn’t really get much action on the phones. Other than going to the dark room during the daytime, I can’t really afford to be signed out much this week so I will probably be pretty easy to get a hold of!

I’ll be working on that story of what happened with me and Erin last weekend too. I hope to be done with that by tomorrow evening!

I’ll leave you with a little funny story. This happened to me last Friday when I was on my way to the airport from school. I stopped at a fast food place for a diet soda because I was feeling a bit tired and wasn’t in the mood for another coffee. I noticed that there was a fruit cup on the menu but no picture of it anywhere, so I asked the woman taking my order what kind of fruit was in it. Here’s the conversation:

Me: “Can you tell me what kind of fruit is in the fruit cup?”

Her: “I don’t know.”

silence

Me: “Ok, well can you please ask someone?”

silence…static…background noise of people talking…about a minute goes by.

Her: “Can I help you?”

Me: “Um yeah, I was waiting for you to tell me what kind of fruit is in the fruit cup.”

silence…static…background noise of people talking…another minute or so goes by.

Her: “Can you drive to the window?”

I drive to the window and as I pull out, I see her arm protruding from the window and she’s holding a clear plastic cup that is full of fruit. She pretty much shoves it in my face and says, “There.”

I check out the fruit, which looks pretty gross, and tell her that I’ll pass. I almost can’t stop myself from laughing though because I’m thinking to myself, “Holy shit, she doesn’t know what kind of fruit that is!!!!”

It’s barely 11 pm and I’m so tired I can barely hold my eyes open. I spent 5 hrs. in the dark room today. I’m pretty sure that this class is going to be the death of me. I’ll be up bright and early to head back tomorrow though so I can get some one on one time with the teacher.

I spent Sunday and Monday with Erin since she didn’t have to work because of President’s day. OMG … we had an absolutely amazing time with our second ever all-girl threesome! It was so amazingly hot, I promise that I’ll be writing up a story about it as soon as I get some time. Oddly enough, that same night, I fucked a guy in a club right in front of a few hundred people. I don’t really think anyone noticed, but still. I’ll include that in the story too, of course.

Anyway, I just wanted to post real fast and let you all know that I’m still here. I’ve been logging in as much as I could but between dark room time, shooting my assignments and visiting Erin, I haven’t been on as much as I should have been lately.

Ok, got interrupted and am now literally falling asleep at my keyboard. Will update more later!
