I had the best time EVER!

May 27th, 2008

I just took 3.5 days off. Can you believe it? I haven’t taken that much time off since my vacation to Europe last October. I hadn’t planned to do it, but once I started partying, it just felt too damn good! haha

I had actually planned to take Friday and Saturday off. Friday was my cousin’s bridal shower and Erin came down. I spent the entire day cooking! Everyone was supposed to bring a dish and since my domestic goddess gene seems to have kicked into overdrive, I not only prepared the requested item, potato salad (because I make amazing potato salad that everyone loves), but three varieties of tea sandwiches and a strawberry rhubarb pie.

I know, I’m out of my mind! Strawberry rhubarb pie is my cousin’s favorite though and I learned how to make pie crust from scratch recently so I couldn’t help myself. Then when I went to look at foodnetwork.com for ideas for other stuff to make, they suggested tea sandwiches for a bridal shower. I made cucumber, smoked salmon/egg, and smoked turkey with that had a parsley/dill/shallot/lemon mayo.

The shower was awesome. We played games, ate a ton of food and she got a bunch of sex gag gifts that cracked us all up. Erin and I made the hottest wedding dress out of toilet paper that I’ve ever seen!

I’d gotten a text from a friend I’ve seen a few times in the past couple of years but used to be great friends with so I called her after the shower and Erin and I headed over to her place. We ended up going out with her and a friend of hers to a couple of clubs that were so close to her place that we walked. Well, until we got so drunk we could barely stand up and decided we needed to eat Taco Bell food so we got a cab so we could ride through the drive through! HAHAHA

It was super fun though. I’m really glad we went. We ended up at a latin club and the guys were hot and good dancers. YAY! We slept til around 11 or so and got up to go do some last minute shopping for the bachelorette party that night.

I got some new shoes that I LOVE LOVE LOVE and had a brand new dress to wear out that night. All the girls came over around 7 and we decided to go out to dinner and then go club hoppin’. Awesome choice.

We had so much fun, it was unreal. We skipped lines and got in free everywhere we went! I figure we should just pretend to be a bachelorette party from now on every time we go out! There were plenty of “party favors” to go around and we all danced our asses off til around 4 am. I got free drinks all night and so did my cousin…and it was sweet that none of the girls had forgotten that it was my birthday too. I didn’t feel left out of the festivities at all.

We got home, crashed pretty quick and slept like the dead for a good solid 8 hours or so. Erin headed out and my roomie and I hooked up with some friends for lunch. Then I came home and just totally chilled out all day, watching tv and reading. I could have taken calls that day, but I was just too damn tired.

Then yesterday my roomie and I headed out to some places to look at flowers. Another friend and her mom went too. We went to lunch and then hooked up with a ton of friends to go see the new “Indiana Jones” movie. I have to say that I was extremely disappointed. It was a cheese-o-rama from the first scene. I guess I was mildly entertained at some points toward the end, but I never lost myself in the story or shook the vague feeling that I’d just rather leave.

The other Indiana Jones movies are all in my top 20 too so that sucks bad. I was REALLY excited for this one and now I just wish they’d left it alone. Not only that, but now Shia Lebeouf is going to take over the franchise? I’m sorry, but I’m not down. I don’t even like him for some reason. UGH. I just read the stuff about it over on IMDB and it appears that I’m not the only one who thought it sucked.

Oh well, I am really excited about the new Batman movie and “Hancock“, a movie that’s coming out on July 2 starring Will Smith. I am so excited about it that I actually dreamed about fucking Will Smith last night. YUM!

Speaking of yum, I’m eating a gigantic bowl of strawberries for breakfast. Also yum is David Cook, who WON AMERICAN IDOL! WOOHOO! I was stunned, shocked, amazed and totally happy to see that happen. Now that that’s over, “So You Think You Can Dance” has started and it’s by far one of my favorite tv shows. So far I haven’t really been blown away by anyone, but it’s only had one episode this season. I’m sure I will be wowed soon.

Oddly enough, even with all my time off lately, I might not be around tonight. We’ll have to see. I skipped my Tolle class last week and would really like to attend tonight. I guess it depends on how busy I am on the phones today during the day. Call me up! :-)

Moviepalooza continues!

April 29th, 2008

I’m not quite sure what my deal is, but I’m watching a ton of movies still. I did manage to watch “Dan in Real Life” yesterday. Ugh, what a lame ass movie! It was 100% predictable from start to finish and normally I love Steve Carell, but his performance was flat and not funny at all. I think Juliette Binoche was completely miscast. I didn’t buy her being with Dane Cook’s character for one second. Overall, just a huge bummer and a waste of my time.

On the other hand, even though “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” wasn’t quite as funny as Richard Roeper seemed to think it was, I definitely enjoyed it. I was supposed to go with the boy, but I finally put my foot down and it’s been two weeks since I’ve seen him. I think it’s gonna stick this time.

So my roomies and I got hella stoned and went. We munched popcorn and candy and laughed our asses off. Since when did penises start making regular appearances in rated R movies? First there was a sausage fest in “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story” (which I thought was funny for the first half and then totally dragged) and now we saw Jason Segal’s weiner just right out there in the open!

I absolutely love him in the tv show “How I Met Your Mother” and I’ve been stoked to be seeing him in feature length comedies. He both wrote and starred in this movie and I was definitely impressed. I can’t wait for future stuff!

I do just have to quickly mention that I still think “Knocked Up” was funnier. There are WAY more one liners in it. Also, I was way disappointed by Paul Rudd’s character in this movie. There could have been WAY more done with it. Even Jonah Hill’s character was slightly underplayed, in my opinion.

In other news, it’s still super slow on the phones for some reason. I think I posted about my scores getting way better on Niteflirt, but now it just seems like I’m paying for double the exposure and getting way fewer calls. Who knows. Hopefully it will pick up soon, I’ve had two bad weeks in a row and yesterday I was on for over 12 hrs. and averaged less than $15 an hour! I might as well go and be a secretary or something for that kinda money! :-)

I’ve had a request to work on the story about the orgy that I had with Erin in Europe so I think I’ll start that today. I don’t really have any other plans. I want to go shopping, but lack of funds is stopping me at this point. Anyone wanna get me a gift certificate so I can go please? Pretty please?

Where is everybody? hellooooo *echo*

April 24th, 2008

Well, as I’ve stated before, this business is very up and down. I don’t let a few slow days freak me out anymore but I’m starting to get a little bit lonely!! Right after I sent out the email about making it to 10,000 points, I was getting a ton of calls.

Lately it’s been a ghost town on my phone line. I pick it up to check and make sure there’s a dial tone and I hear that trilling flute sound and the sound of spurs and tumbleweeds.

What REALLY sucks is that I’m off tomorrow and Saturday and probably most of Sunday so I’m looking at having a super pathetic week if something doesn’t pick up. Maybe I’ll send out some free minutes or something. Hmm.

I did have a good call last night with a new guy that didn’t quite save the day, but at least made it a tiny bit less ridiculous. So thanks for that!

Oh yeah, I did blow through almost all the movies I mentioned in my last blog. “Sweeney Todd” was ok. I give it a 2.5 stars out of 5. “Little Miss Sunshine”, I didn’t really like at all. I also watched “The Water Horse” cause I love kid movies. Eh. Not impressed. I still need to watch “Last King of Scotland” and then I rented “Dan in Real Life” and I’ll probably watch that tonight between calls.

Final movie note, I’m going to see “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” on Saturday. I’m SUPER STOKED!! As you might know, “Knocked Up” is my fave comedy of all time and I’ve heard that this new one might be even BETTER. Here’s to hoping!

I have to say “UGH UGH UGH UGH UGH” about last night’s American Idol too. God. What a fucking retarded move. I’m not voting this year so I guess I can’t complain too much but seriously? How the hell did Carly go before Jason? Bullshit.

Alright! Seems that this was a largely pop culture filled blog (written while I’m munching on celery sticks covered with peanut butter and m&m’s) but hey, whatever. Not much else is going on over here lately!

Talk to you soon!

TGIF!

April 18th, 2008

Wow, has it really been 5 days already since I made 10,000 points? Seems like time is flying. I’ve had a pretty busy week. I stayed two nights at the boy’s house to help him with some stuff again and I definitely got the “thanks” I deserved.

Due to some weird stuff all happening at the same time, I have a whopping $6 in my bank account….so I guess I’ll be sticking close to home this weekend and doing calls! It’s ok, I had my days off this week already so it’ll be fine for me to just chill for a bit.

Peep this hilarious looking movie I found at Walmart the other day for $1. Here’s what the description on the back says:

“Tracy, Felicia and Cinnamon are street smart beauties who get framed for felonies they didn’t commit. Trapped in the lock-up, their luck takes a turn for the better when they are approached by attorney Larry Abrahams, who agrees to take their cases and get their charges dropped - if the ladies investigate the murder of his friend and popular rap artist, Nitro Jones (played by multi-platinum rap artist Juvenile).

The ladies go undercover at Nitro’s label, Insynchro Records, and ferret out clues about Nitro’s murder. Following their leads, the avenging angels evade deadly traps set by the villains and use their martial arts skills to avenge Nitro’s death. The lethal ladies uncover a scandal the rocks the rap world to the core - murder for a number one hit record.

When you need the law - call a cop. When you need justice - call the Hood Angels.”

OH MY GOD! Are you kidding me?!!??! I was laughing so hard in the store that I think I almost passed out. Look at the cover. It’s so funny.

Alright peeps, I’ve got a bunch of movies to watch. I’m halfway through “I am Legend”, which I had avoided cause I heard that the ending sucked but I finally caved and started watching. Then I’ve got “Sweeney Todd”, “Little Miss Sunshine” and “The Last King of Scotland” to watch too. I love the pause button though, so give me a call if you want to play!

and the weird luck continues!

February 16th, 2008

Yesterday I got up hella early to go to class and discovered that one of my diamond earrings wasn’t in my ears anymore. I looked in the shower, in my room and around the bathroom and had no luck. I was super bummed! They are only half carat, but I bought them for myself the first day I made a good chunk of money as a phone chick.

Then this morning I was um, going potty, for lack of a better term, and I looked down and there it was! YAY! So weird, huh? Broken computer, fixed computer, broken car, fixed car, dead camera, fixed camera, lost earring, recovered earring.

School was BRUTAL yesterday. I’m actually getting close to dropping the class. I went in at 9 and got started. It went ok at first even though it took me forever to load my second roll of film onto the reel so I could develop it…then my film had water spots all over it and I had to rerinse it.

But then the printing started and Oh My God. I wanted to try and get three different prints done in 90 minutes, which is ambitious, I know, but I am a bit behind and wanted to try to catch up. I actually ended up getting some good black and white shots and a depth of field one as well as a replacement portrait so I was excited to see them on paper.

So I got started on the black and white, hoping that it would turn out ok. The first print was actually pretty close. I thought for sure I’d have it on the second try. Hmm…not so much! SIX ATTEMPTS LATER, I still didn’t have it perfect but was 40 minutes late for lunch with some friends so after having a mini melt down in front of a bunch of other students, I left with only the one print completed.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I drove all the way there yesterday to do some work and it was locked. The guy told me today that they’d told us to go to security if that happened, but that was a month ago and I didn’t remember. Some other kind of dramatic stuff was going on at the same time and I was just a bit emotionally fragile so instead of asking someone, I just left.

So anyway, I went to lunch with some friends and lo and behold, there’s an entire table full of hot ass, late 20’s, early 30’s looking business men sitting right next to us. It took me about 5 minutes to ascertain, but four of the five ended up being married. Ugh.

I was looking super cute too. I broke things off with the boy for sure and am on a man hunt now! I went and got some new make up after lunch and a couple of new shirts too. Shopping always makes me feel better.

Then last night a friend called and invited me roller skating! Yep, I said it. Roller skating! Turns out she has a bunch of little cousins and she was baby sitting them. That was so much fun!! Yeah, there were maybe only 10 people in the whole place over the age of 14, but I didn’t even care. It had been like 10 yrs. since I’d been on skates (wow, way to feel old when I’m not even 25 yet), but it was like riding a bike.

I’m a bit sore today though because I had itty bitties (as Rachael Ray would say) hanging on my arms almost all night. It doesn’t take a ton of strength to pull them back up when they’re falling, but do it 1,000 times and you’re bound to get sore.

I don’t really have any plans today and since I essentially took the last 3 days off in a row, I’ll probably just stay signed in most of it. I haven’t had sex for almost 2 weeks now (since I cut the boy off) so I’m definitely horny!

Oh yeah! I finally saw Juno. I feel like I might be the last person on the planet to see it. I’ll just say this…I did like it. It had the ending I would have wanted it to have, but Diablo Cody isn’t half as clever as she thinks she is. Sorry, but the dialogue wasn’t as witty and clever as I think she thinks it is and even though I was entertained, I wasn’t blown away. I’ll give it a 3 out of 5 even though I really wanted to and was prepared to like it more than I did.
