Aaaalllmmooooossstttt there!
So I posted about almost being to 11,000 points and them promptly took a couple of days off. Oops. Silly me. I had some stuff come up and had to deal with it. One of the things was fun though…I have a friend who does Niteflirt too and she was in town. I took pictures of her for her website! It was great.
The weather was awesome for a little bit there and we got most of our garden put in. Whew, that’s some back breaking work, isn’t it? It’s back down into the 60’s now, which is fine, but I’m glad we got it done already. Crossing my fingers that it does better this year than last.
And happy belated Earth Day! I went to see the movie “Earth” yesterday then out to eat organic with some friends to celebrate. I really wanted to love that movie. I had such high hopes! It was definitely a bit too heavy on the “circle of life” theme for me though. Too many babies dying and stuff. At one point, I looked over and my friend’s 8 yr. old son was crying because a polar bear died. Ugh. Not the uplifting Earth Day event I had anticipated.
I watched the Oprah Earth Day special too and I’m proud to see that I already practice many of the things they recommended to help our planet. I use reuseable bags when I shop, use only CFL light bulbs, use organic household cleaners, plant an organic garden, eat vegetarian (production of meat is very harmful to the environment and takes up amazing amounts of energy), recycle all that I can of our household waste and quite a few other things.
I made a few Earth Day pledges to myself though. I’m going to stop drinking water that’s bottled in plastic bottles (even though I recycle them). I’m going to start composting all of the household waste that I can. I’m going to stop buying snacks that are in single servings. I’m also going to get a trash compactor so that what we DO have to throw out takes up less volume at least. Not sure when I’ll get to that though, who knew those dang things were so expensive? lol
So anyway, I plan to be taking calls all day today…would be great if I could bust through 11,000 pts. today! I only need 24 more points. That would be 12 calls that are rated 5 stars that are under 15 minutes. Less if any of them last 15 minutes or more. Anyone up for the challenge? One call that’s 2 hrs. 45 minutes and 5 star rated and I’d make it! ha ha ha
