Yay for awesome calls!
Ok so yes, the Giants won the Superbowl and everyone I know is happy now! Kinda old news at this point, but I haven’t posted in a few days.
I sent out an email a few days ago to my callers announcing that I was lowering my rates back down to $1.69/min. and apologizing for my sporadic availability and moods for the past year or so. I’ve been going through some rough times and it’s totally not something I should be taking out on you all.
Right after I sent out that email, I got a $100 tip from a guy who had only called me once before for 10 minutes! Then he called me and did a call that lasted almost an hour and a half. I was amazed. Not only was it a long call and the tip was awesome, it was one of the first calls in awhile that has aroused me in a basic way that I miss.
Yes, I fantasize with callers still and masturbate, but this was a “panties soaked before I even reach down there” type of call. A call where we took our time to talk before we got “into” it I’ve missed that so much…connecting to someone in that way that reminds us all that we’re sexual creatures.
So even if I never rebound and start making the kind of money I made two years ago or get the kinds of calls that I love doing, that call will be a fond memory long after I leave this industry.
That said, I have a couple of new photography assignments that I hope some of you will have some ideas about! Send me an IM or email if you do. The first one is that I have to take pictures of all black items against a black background. My first thought is that I’ll take a picture of this super hot leather high heeled boot I have against the fuzzy background of a playboy bunny blanket I have.
Then I have to do all white objects on a white background. I thought a white lily against a white sheet or something, but I don’t have many ideas on that. Help!
Then I have to do half/half….half white background, half black with either all white ojects on black bg or all white on a white and vice versa. The surface area of the white and black objects has to be approximately the same (I can’t have a white egg against the boot, for example).
Some examples the teacher gave were that one year a girl spray painted some roses and shot them on a black asphalt background and a guy shot charcoal briquets and marshmallows together.
The second assignment is to stop or blur motion using our camera settings. They said no cars, kids on swings or waterfalls. So what’s something that moves that would look super cool either blurred or stopped in motion? Ideas please!!
I missed school last week because my car broke down so I’m kind of feeling anxious that I’m not ahead of the class anymore. I’d like to get at least one of these two assignments done by Friday so I can make the contact sheet when I go in. I’m going to attempt re-doing the portrait assignment on the second half of a redone landscape attempt roll of film and make a contact sheet out of THAT on Friday too.
Then I need to print one of my portraits and one of my landscapes on Friday too. I’ll definitely be in the lab all three hours. Damn, I’m glad I’m only taking this one class. I’d be super overwhelmed if I had more to do!
Anyway, other than the camera work I’ll be doing, I should be on for calls a LOT between now and Saturday. Look me up and let’s have some fun together!
