I am EXHAUSTED!!
Ok, so I’d decided to take a day off yesterday and just spend a little time chillin’ out. I’d worked pretty much non stop for over a week and really needed some down time. HA! I guess that’s what I get for thinkin’ when I’m not used to it. (My mom used to always say that to me!)
My roomie and I have prepared baskets of home made goodies for our friends and families for a few years now and since I was taking the day off, she decided that it was a good day to start. So I spent the morning deciding which things we’d make and she headed out to the store. We’d already bought all the baskets/tins/tissue paper, etc. that we’d need at Michael’s during their Black Friday sale.
So yesterday I made pumpkin butterscotch bundt cake, zucchini pineapple bread and banana nut bread. I made the cutest little teeny tiny loaves of the breads and made mini bundt cakes. And yes, you have permission to stop reading this if a visual of me as Betty Crocker is turning you off.
We put all the mini loaves of bread in the freezer so they wouldn’t be stale tomorrow and then got up bright and early to start baking this morning. I guess technically it counts as my second day off in a row since I didn’t sign in until after 9. So, you’re asking…what did we make today?
COOKIES! OMG THE COOKIES. If I never see another baking sheet or cookie scoop in my life, I might just die a happy woman. We made:
chocolate crinkle (made with cocoa and covered in powdered sugar)
chocolate chip
white chocolate macadamia nut
peanut butter kiss (have hershey’s kisses on the top, dark chocolate mint and hugs)
sugar (traditional in all kinds of cool shapes)
Then we also made fudge and rice crispy treats. Now keep in mind that we made double or triple batches of EVERYTHING so we made no less than 8 dozen of each cookie in most cases. How insane is that?
As we’re putting together the baskets tomorrow, I will actually take a picture and post it here. Yes, I’m that dorky and that proud. And yes, they all taste as delicious as they sound.
I probably won’t be around some during the day time. My roomie is going with her good friend to her ultrasound appt. because she gets to find out what her baby is so I’m watching my little cousin during the day. Then we have to go make the rounds to hand out some of the baskets. No wonder I’m broke! hahah half of the county is going to be munching on stuff I made!
It’s 11 pm now and I’ve been signed in for an hour with not even one call so I think I’ll be heading to bed soon. No sex for me for over a week now though so hopefully I’ll be busy tomorrow since I’m sure I’ll be horny!
