Hey everyone. I just want to start out by saying that I’m sorry I haven’t been keeping up on my blog lately. It’s been a combination of being very busy during the day, signing on later than usual, being on the phone the vast majority of the time I’m available for calls and talking until I get ready to just pass out. That’s been the pattern pretty much this week. So I’m sorry.

Yesterday I had a GREAT day. I actually spent a full SEVEN hours shopping! It was awesome, I had such a great time. I finally got the Camelbak backpack that I’ve been meaning to get for over a month. Thank you again Johnathan for hooking me up with it! I bought my roomie one of the fanny pack hydration systems from Camelbak and some new hiking boots so she will be more comfortable when we go hiking. Here’s a picture of the one I got (not my exact one obviously, but it was easier to take this pic off the net than to take one of mine). Isn’t it pretty?

 

 

I also got some new clothes, a couple of track suits and a new shirt and some new pants. I got some new cute little things for my hair and some wool socks for hiking. I did a ton of window shopping too! I’m already starting to think about Christmas, isn’t that crazy?

Today my roomies had to go to a funeral and they took the baby with them so I had the whole day to myself. Instead of signing on early or something, I decided to just finish the book I was reading. Now, Nora Roberts is my favorite author, but lately I’m starting to not like her books as much. It’s kinda what happened to Stephen King and Anne Rice. I LOVE their earlier stuff, but then the later stuff I just hated.

I can see how Nora has really refined her writing and she’s much more skilled at painting a picture with words and it’s a far cry from her earlier works as far as actual writing ability goes. My problem is that lately her books seem to put the romance part on the back burner. They’re all much more about mystery and intrigue…ghosts and murders and stuff and it seems as if the main couple of the story just kinda fall into bed with each other. Her earlier books were all about the relationships. Now they just seem like a side note.

So I guess I’ll be on the hunt for a new romance author. I’ll probably never stop reading Nora Roberts books (like I did with Stephen King and Anne rice), but she’s really slipping in the ranks. I’m definitely a huge fan of the Dark-Hunter series I just finished up and can’t wait for more books to come out from that author. Maybe I’ll check out more of the other stuff she’s done.

I hadn’t been watching the show “Rockstar Supernova” until a couple of weeks ago. Don’t ask me why. I love rock music and I love reality shows that involve music in any way, so you’d think I’d be all over it!

My roomie got me started watching it and I am totally, completely and 100% in love with one of the singers on the show. His name is Ryan Star.

Now before of you jump all over me about it, I’m aware of the fact that he BUTCHERED a Depeche Mode song on last week’s show. It wasn’t the arrangement, which he seemed to take credit for, but the fact that he FORGOT THE WORDS that bothered me. Um, hello? How the fuck can you forget the words to “Enjoy the Silence”? Even people who don’t know the song well know the words to it! It’s just one of “those” songs that everyone knows and doesn’t quite know how or why!

But then on the last show, he sang a song by Phil Collins called “In The Air Tonight”, which is one of my favorite songs ever to begin with…and his rendition was absolutely amazing. I watched it three times. I wanted to have his babies right then and there…or at least die trying.

Ok, well not “crazy” per se, but busy and fun! Saturday I went on a jog and then to the mall to get my hair cut. I didn’t get it cut very short, it’s still past my shoulder blades, but I got some layers put in it. Then I came home and hung out with my roomies and made a batch of cookies. Told you I was in a baking mood!

I didn’t sign on until kinda late and it was slow right at first and then BAM! I got a really long awesome call with a guy who’s called me before and I’ve always enjoyed talking to…but the long call really gave me the chance to get to know him a bit better. It was a GREAT call. After it was over, I was tired, but my callers didn’t care! lol I got a few more calls and racked up some awesome minutes before I finally went to sleep.

I had planned to go to sleep early because we were going hiking the next morning, but that didn’t quite work out. I still managed to drag my butt out of bed on time though and we headed out around 10 am. I swear, I need to do some more research on the net or something before choosing a trail. This one said “easy” and said it was “relatively flat with rolling hills”. Ok, maybe I’m just not much of a hiker, but DAMN. Not only that, but we were positively swarmed with flies the entire way. Not just regular flies either, these ones were biting us! OW!

I was totally miserable by the time we got back to the car, but hey, at least it was good exercise. My new hiking boots did really help support my ankles and I’m grateful for that. And no, I hadn’t gotten that damn backpack, but I still have the money for it and I’m going to go THIS WEEK and get it. I swear. I plan on doing a bit more hiking before the “winter” sets in and it would have really come in handy. You just really can’t ever carry quite enough liquid with you.

I got some great pictures too and I can’t wait until I take that photography class. I really could have used some advice on how to deal with really harsh sunlight. A lot of the pictures I took were mostly washed out, the sun was so bright on the subject.

Today my neck and back are a tiny bit sore from carrying the backpack. I’m SUCH a pussy, it only weighed maybe 10 lbs., if that. How lame am I? lol Maybe I should start carrying a pack and wearing my boots during normal walks through the park. People would probably think I’m NUTS though. lol

I didn’t take ANY calls last night whatsoever. I was simply too exhausted to. I went to sleep after midnight after getting on the computer only long enough to check out the pictures I’d taken. Today my roomie and I are going to clean house and then maybe go grocery shopping. So even though she’s taking the day off and we’re sticking around, I won’t be taking calls until much later this evening.

Oh my God. I was so fucking horny last night, I can’t even describe it really. DJ called me and I went NUTS. I don’t even know how many times I came, I think it was at least 4. Then I did it twice more when my shy guy called and again when Ubu called. Dude. I was numb from the waist down after all that from using my new toy.

I signed on today after a day of hanging out with a friend. We watched “The Joy Luck Club”, one of my fave movies of all time, and just talked. It was great.

I came home then headed straight to the store for some stuff for the weekend. I am in a “baking” mood…so I’m gonna go with it. I’m definitely making apple crisp again and probably chocolate chip cookies. I know, it’s weird. I can’t explain it.

I just downloaded a bunch of music. Well, not a bunch, but some. I got the “Blue October” cd, which has the song “Hate Me” that I’m loving right now. Ubu had me watch the video for the first time and I have to say, I’m not a huge fan of the video. It just made the song more confusing to me than it needed to be. I get that he was talking to his mom, but she’s dead? Is he dead too (there one scene in the video which makes it look like he is)? If his mom is dead, why does he want her to hate him? Won’t she be hate free in heaven? ACK! It makes my brain hurt. Anyone feel like commenting?

I think we’re gonna have a Halloween party this year, so I downloaded some songs I thought would be fun for a party. I also got the song “Ramalama” by Roisin Murphy. They did a dance to it on “So You Think You Can Dance” and me and my roomie both LOVE the song. You should check it out if you’ve never heard it.

It was super busy when I first signed on tonight, but it’s kinda slow right now. I’m not even remotely sleepy though so I’m sure I’ll be up for quite awhile.
